Summary

This project will isolate the cells and the gene messages, the messenger RNA, within the cells from the patient samples to understand which genes are turned on or off in IBD. The pattern of genes being turned on or off can be used to match against other diseases patterns and patterns created when new potential medicines are tested on cells.

Comparing the gene patterns helps understand why diseases occur, why IBD is different in different people and what are the best medicines to develop.

This early research work hopes to help the right IBD medicine get to the right IBD patient in the future.
